Introduction to Computer Science

This course provides an overview of the field of computer science, hence ideal for students who intend to study Computer science at the university but aren’t sure of what to expect yet. Students will learn about the core principles of computing. We will delve into five major areas of computing namely; Computational thinking & problem solving, Data representation & organization, Hardware & architecture, Programming & software development, Computing context & application. The course aims to give students a broad understanding of what computer science entails and its applications in the real world. Next, the sections are grouped in a logical progression that mirrors how computer science concepts build upon each other.
